Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans offered condolences for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
